RAÍCES CULTURAL EXCHANGE Raíces Cultural Center develops cultural, creative & educational exchange programs locally and abroad in the areas of music, art and culture. Workshops, lectures, seminars, and other educational activities are offered by visiting local and international artists, musicians and culture bearers and through local, national and international exchange trips. These exchanges serve to educate and enlighten, thereby augmenting the cultural experience of all participants.In July 2009 the Raíces Cultural Center made a fact-finding trip to the city of Loíza Aldea on the island of Puerto Rico to take part in the week long festival of Santiago Apostol and meet with local culture bearers and organizations to begin arrangements for an itinerary and accommodations for a Raíces' Cultural Exchange Trip in July 2011. Participants on this trip will spend a week immersed in the folkloric cultural traditions of Puerto Rico, attending workshops,  performances, cultural events, museums and more. Ensemble members will also travel to perform as part of the Exchange program.All future Cultural Exchange programs will be listed on the Raíces Calendar.
