TOPIC: Fracking and Water Protection
Water is a precious resource, which we all need to survive. The New Brunswick City Council recently passed a resolution in support of a ban on hydraulic fracturing, recognizing that the use of fracking elsewhere in the state could contaminate the Raritan River and the availability of drinking water to an entire region. By the date of this meeting, Governor Christie will have decided whether to sign a statewide ban on fracking into law or to veto it. Come discuss the meaning and ramification of these actions and what steps we can take as a community to further protect our water supply.
