Raíces Coronavirus Cooperative Campaign
Help Raíces produce and distribute fabric face masks to health care workers and local community members through our Raíces Coronavirus Cooperative Campaign.
In Phase 1 of the project, the Raíces crew, along with a Mutual Aid Fund New Brunswick volunteer from the local community handcrafted and donated 50 fabric masks along with 50 donated surgical masks to Capital Health Hospital in Hopewell, NJ. In addition, we made and distributed 25 fabric masks to members of the Raíces Community who were in need of reusable and washable face coverings.
Now we are close to the end of our upcycled and donated fabric, and we have been connected to a local group of seamstresses by the Mutual Aid Fund New Brunswick who want to volunteer to continue sewing masks. We are looking forward to working cooperatively with these volunteers, acquiring and dropping off the raw materials, and picking up the finished products for distribution to the hospital and local community members in need.
We are launching the Raíces Coronavirus Cooperative Campaign to raise the funds to keep this project going. With a goal of $300, we will be able to produce and donate an additional 400 fabric face masks to Capital Health Hospital as well as local community members in need. Donate today to help us reach our goal!
