Advanced Beginner’s Bomba Dance

Join Raíces Cultural Center to deepen your practice in this traditional Caribbean art form. This class is designed for students who have completed at least one cycle of our Intro to Bomba course or possess a foundational understanding of the genre’s rudiments.

In this session, we will build upon those basics by introducing more complex movements, intricate choreography, and additional rhythms, while continuing to explore the profound cultural significance and history of Bomba.

Class Details:

  • Audience: Open to adults and families with teens ages 14 and up. (Note: A guardian must remain present at all times for minors).

  • Capacity: Registration is strictly limited to 12 participants per session to ensure personalized instruction.

Note: Advanced Beginners Bomba Dance is for students who have completed one or more cycles of Introduction to Bomba Dance at Raíces or new students who already know the basic steps and rudiments of the four main strains of bomba - Sicá, Yubá, Güembé, and Holandés. If you are a new Raíces participants signing up for the Advanced Beginners section, we will follow up with you to confirm previous experience and ensure the class is a right fit for you.
