Support Spotlight: Raíces Awarded Middlesex County Arts and History Program Grants for 2022
Raíces Cultural Center is pleased to announce that we have received funding support for our 2022 Arts and History programs and projects thanks to Arts and History Program Grants from the Middlesex County Office of Arts and History (MCOAH).
Arts Program funding will launch a series of cycles of Cultural Arts classes Classes offered will include Caribbean dance, drumming and song with cultural history and end-of cycle community celebrations.
History Program funding will support our Community History Branch’s newly formed Community Project Panel throughout it’s first year of project development. Members of this group will receive training in public history methods and tools, provide feedback on projects currently published or in development, and in some cases, create their own Community History project to publish through the Raíces CH Project Portal. These projects will share untold and undertold stories, histories and narratives related to a variety of of our Community History project areas, including Roots Music, Ancestral Herbal Narratives, and Family Ties.
Raíces Cultural Center is grateful to Middlesex County Office of Arts and History for the continued funding support for our arts and history programs and projects. This support will help Raíces and our team continue to grow our roots in our community and carry out our mission to preserve cultural roots through the arts, history and ecology.
