On September 16, 2017, the Raíces Cultural Center Student Ensemble, under the direction of Francisco G. Gómez, performed at the North Plainfield Farmer’s Market Festival. Check out the photo gallery below.

Audience member dances before the drum, the drum responds to the dancers movement with sounds that mimic the movement. These dance moves are called picoteos or piquetes.

When people get together to dance, drum and sing bomba it is called a bombazo. The audience at the Farmer's market festival joined in the dancing and singing, turning the Raíces Student Ensemble performance into an impromptu bombazo.
