Introduction to Solar Energy with Laura Waldman. This workshop was part of the Raíces EcoCulture Sustainable Living Workshop Series, co-sponsored by Sustainable Highland Park and funded by the Highland Park Park Partners Grant Program and individual donations from community members and supporters.

Explaining how solar energy technology works to workshop participants.

Participants engaged in dialogue about the benefits of renewable energy sources like solar over fossil fuels.

Laura discussed applications of solar energy, as well as the various career opportunities and business set ups of solar based businesses, including Community Solar and Solar Cooperatives.

Workshop participants felt the power of the sun after everyone decided it was too beautiful of a day to move the workshop inside the Environmental Education Center.

Raíces Cultural Center thanks workshop presenter Laura Waldman for traveling to Highland Park to share her knowledge with us. We look forward to working more with her in the future.
