Grateful for Our New Home

Raíces Signby Nicole Wines

The last few weeks have been spent cleaning, packing, painting, organizing and moving…all during the beginning of garden season.  Even though it’s one of the busiest times of the year, the news of our new home was exciting!

Over the past couple of days we have been preparing our new office in the Cave of the Reformed Church of Highland Park for the move and we are almost ready to get in there.

As I hung up our sign tonight, I felt more grateful than excited.  The whole time we’ve been working to prepare our office, we have heard footsteps overheard and on the stairwell and music coming from chorus practice and band rehearsals.  Friends have walked in and out of the community room outside our office checking on their own projects that take place in the Cave.  We are already collaborating with other organizations who are our neighbors in the building.  We aren’t just getting a space for programs and an office, we were invited to make our new home within a community.  Raíces means “roots” and we’ve been given an opportunity to make a home where we can grow.

Thanks Pastor Seth and everyone who has supported us in giving Raíces Cultural Center a new home!
