Raíces Branch of Community History Receives COVID-19 Response Grant from NJCH
Raíces Cultural Center Update
Raíces Cultural Center is honored to be one of the organizations receiving support through the New Jersey Council for Humanities COVID-19 Response Grants. This grant will support the official launch of our newest program branch, the Branch of Community History.
By establishing this program branch, Raíces Cultural Center seeks to expand our impact of preserving cultural roots through the documenting, preserving and creative sharing of untold and undertold stories. The main goal of this new program branch is to create interactive community-led history projects and programs that lead and inspire participants to explore cultural heritage, traditions, and undertold stories within public and community history frameworks.
Grant funds provided will support the first year of public program and project development for this new program branch including:
- Raíces Caribbean Culture & History Discussion Group
- Stories of the Ancestors, Stories of Healing Digital Project Series
- Raíces Roots Online Digital Archive Development & Strategic Planning
Thank you NJCH for believing in Raíces Cultural Center and our mission and for continuing to support our efforts to document and share untold and undertold stories.
